Crowns
Dental crowns are often necessary for teeth that are:
- Cracked
- Have needed large fillings
- Have had root canal treatment
This is done to protect the remaining tooth structure of teeth that have already undergone significant damage. Dental crowns are usually completed in two appointments. First appointment prepares the tooth for a crown and a mould of the tooth is taken so that the crown can be made. The crown is made by a skilled dental technician then inserted at the second appointment.
Although we use state-of-the-art materials and techniques, we do not perform single appointment crowns. This is for the simple reason that we hold ourselves to a high standard and single appointment crowns may compromise the aesthetic and functional result. All our crowns are made by the reputable Aesthetika Dental laboratory in Subiaco and we don’t send our work to overseas dental technicians.
